Jodie is a Leapwise Associate. She was a Senior Research Fellow at the think tank ippr and has spent over a ten years in Whitehall leading strategy and managing complex policy projects in education and areas affecting the life chances of children and families. As a civil servant her roles have included advising Ministers on how to optimise spending for social mobility and delivering Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit projects on ‘good childhood’ and families. She also led the teams responsible for the reform of subsidised childcare and academies operational strategy at Department for Education.
Recently Jodie’s work has focused more on empowering good people and organisations to manage change and seize new opportunities at the local level. She spent a year at the international education charity Ark developing a new not-for-profit early years venture for disadvantaged children and their families and now works as an Associate offering advice, analysis and strategic leadership support to a range of organisations.
