John Hall is a Leapwise Associate with deep experience in public sector strategy, policy and economic roles. Before entering consulting in 2014, he was Director of Economics at Monitor, the health sector regulator, Director of Strategy at the Department of Health and Head of Health Spending at the Treasury.
John specialises in supporting complex public sector decisions, strengthening governance and leadership, and improving budgeting across health care, taxation, environment and international development. Experienced in working with ministers, Chief Executives and Boards, he is also a trained CoActive Life Coach and regularly leads young people on expeditions.
John is a trained economist and spent the first five years of his career working as a Senior Research Economist at the Institute for Fiscal studies and as a lecturer and tutor in economics at University College London. He entered the civil service in 1998.
