Meet Joe Bowen
Joe Bowen is a Consultant at Leapwise. With six years in teaching and public policy, Joe works closely with public sector leaders to drive excellent project and performance management strategies and deliver excellent results for the public.
Professional Experience
Joe brings extensive experience working in high-performance public-sector organisations. Before joining Leapwise, Joe worked as a teacher at Michaela Community School, the highest–performing school in England. He holds a first- class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from the University of York. At university, he led a team of 50+ student consultants working on social impact projects for the community. For this work, he and his team won awards for outstanding leadership and contribution to the city of York. His expertise lies in understanding how the culture of organisations influences their ability to deliver great outcomes for the public.
Ways of Working
Joe is motivated by working on problems which allow individuals, and communities, to thrive. His experiences in teaching have shown him the importance of stable, safe environments have in enabling human flourishing. He feels that working at Leapwise allows him to support the development of those conditions at a national scale.

Client Impact
At Leapwise, Joe works on complex transformation programmes. He brings to this an understanding of what frontline public service feels like, putting the frontline voice at the centre of the work and solutions. Additionally, he will soon be starting as a Special Constable with the Metropolitan Police. This will enhance his understanding of frontline experiences in a policing- specific context.
When he isn’t working, Joe loves to read and play five-a-side football. He is also proud to support the best local team in North London, close by to the Leapwise office, on which he is sure Tom agrees: Tottenham Hotspur.
