Carbon Reduction Plan

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Leapwise is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2022
Additional Details Relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
Emissions data have not been published in prior years therefore we selected 2022 as our base year. Our carbon emissions are calculated using the SSE Energy Solutions Carbon Calculator. We are working with our office providers to provide additional data and further validate our baseline emissions – slight adjustments may be made to increase reporting accuracy.
Baseline year emissions:
EMISSIONS TOTAL (tCO2e)
Scope 1 1.0 tCO2e
Office emissions (gas)[1] 1.0 tCO2e
Scope 2 0.3 tCO2e
Office emissions (electricity)[2] 0.3  tCO2e
Scope 3

7.8 tCO2e
Homeworker electricity emissions (home office) 0.2
Homeworker gas emissions 0.4
Train emissions (commute) 0.3
Train emissions (in work travel) 0.2
Taxi emissions (in work travel) 0.1
Hotel emissions 0.4
Additional estimates for purchases of goods and serivces 6.3
Total Emissions 9.11

Emission reduction targets

We have had no previous emissions reduction commitment.

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero by 2030, we have adopted the following carbon reduction target.

We project that our carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 4.5 tCO2e. This is a reduction of 50% from 2022 and the projection is to reach net zero carbon by 2030. This is to be in line with 2015 Paris agreement of achieving net zero target by 2030, and to satisfy the UK Government’s net zero target by 2050. As our organisation has ambitious growth targets, our carbon footprint will need to be closely monitored and offset activities will likely need to increase to achieve these targets.  We will review the feasibility of a 2030 target in our next reporting period, and report against an ambitious 2030 net zero target, as well as a 2050 net zero target.

Progress against our targets will be visualised in a graph in our next reporting period once we have gathered data in addition to our baseline. We will report on the target and actual emissions.

It is envisaged that carbon offsetting or technology such as carbon capture and storage will be deployed to achieve the difference between actual and net zero carbon.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Our company policies state that our employees are to use public transport where possible when travelling to client sites or meetings, and to always opt for train over air travel. On the rare occasion we do have to fly, we offset our carbon emissions.

In future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  • Setting a carbon reduction target that is validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as in line with the Paris Agreement 1.5°C scenario.
  • Evaluation of all purchase products with specific plans for more efficient use such as reducing single use plastic and reducing use of paper. Using low carbon substitutions were possible such as those made from recycled materials.
  • Implementation of a VGS/VCS-certified carbon offset scheme

Declaration and Sign off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard[3] and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting[4].

Scope 1 and Scope2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard[5].

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
