As we approach the end of the 2025, we wanted to take the chance to look back at what has been a huge year for Leapwise. We not only grew as a consultancy, delivering all kinds of impactful public sector-oriented client work, but have also expanded our thought leadership, team, and audience across this period too.
With that in mind, here are some of the highlights!
Our Impact
One of the biggest developments in our consulting practice came late in 2025. In November, we were thrilled to publicly launch the three service areas that define our work across policing, justice and public safety.
In our Strategy and Transformation service area – led by Leapwise Senior Manager Valeria Ilies – we focus on helping public sector organisations improve outcomes for the public and taxpayers. Some of our most exciting work this year has been with Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies, where we’ve helped them identify over £1m of efficiency savings at a time when finances for all forces remain tight.
In our People and Culture service area – led by Leapwise Manager Tanvi Bhatkal – we help to build inclusive, high-performing organisations and teams. As regular readers of the Leapwise blog will know, a huge amount of our investment in this area in 2025 has been around the new record-breaking National Police Wellbeing Survey developed in partnership with Oscar Kilo.
In our Policy and Partnerships service area – led by our Managing Director Tom Gash – we shape national, regional, and local policy and partnerships that help to build a safer society. Building on Tom’s thought leadership work around the National Centre of Policing, we’ve played an outsized role in influencing the direction of this huge development for policing.
Our People
To help our team maximise its impact across these service lines, we were also thrilled to announce our new Policing, Justice and Public Safety Advisory Council this year.
Our first two members are Serena Kennedy KPM DL (who recently stepped down as Chief Constable of Merseyside Police) and Scott McPherson, who has over 30 years of senior experience across the UK Government, including at the Home Office and the Ministry of Justice. Serena is working with Tanvi on our people and culture work, while Scott is supporting Tom’s efforts around policy and partnerships.
We also grew our staff team in 2025, with Valeria Ilies joining us as Senior Manager and Matthew Drury joining as Data Scientist/Consultant. With Valeria’s nearly two decades of consultancy experience and Matthew’s expertise in data science tools and techniques, they’re already proving invaluable additions to the team.
In a much more recent development, we’ve also moved to our brand new office opposite the Royal Courts of Justice in central London. It’s brought us (literally) closer to our clients across policing, justice, and public safety.
Our Thought Leadership
The recent launch of our new website has also helped us to deliver even more thought leadership work, building on an extensive set of publications this year.
In 2025, we’ve published four major publications:
- National Police Wellbeing Survey: National Insights Report
- National Police Wellbeing Survey 2025 – Deep dive: Drivers of wellbeing
- NPWS Deep Dive: Improving Internal Trust and Confidence for Better Public Outcomes
- Live Facial Recognition: The Case for Coordinated National Expansion.
We’ve published 42 blog posts so far in 2025 which we’re gradually adding back onto our new site. That includes guest contributions from high-profile leaders such as Chief Constable Rob Carden and Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley.
Leapwise has been quoted in national newspapers, spoken at major conferences, and built connections across our key sectors. And we’re delighted that audiences have responded, with our LinkedIn followers increasing by over 50% since January alone.
The Year Ahead
While 2025 has been a transformational year for Leapwise, not least because of all the support we’ve received from clients, readers, and friends, 2026 will involve even more exciting things. In particular, you’ll be hearing a lot more about our work around strategy and transformation, people and culture, and policy and partnerships.
Over this festive period, we’re going to invest some time in making final touches to our website. But we’ll be back with our usual weekly blog on the 7th January!
